No Protests.
Forfeits
In all sports, if an individual/team fails to appear or fails to have the required number of players at the scheduled game time, the opposing player/team who is present will have the following options:
1. Take the win by forfeit at that time. No contest will be played.
2. Choose to wait until opponent arrives to compete. The official game clock will start running as scheduled. The game will commence once the opponents arrive with whatever game time is remaining on the clock. The waiting team will be giving a scoring advantage. If the opposing team is not ready to play 10 minutes after the scheduled game time, a forfeit win will be declared for the waiting team. Should the opposing team arrive before the 10 minute time limit, and should the team entitled to the forfeit agree to play, then the contest shall be played. The time lost shall not be made up, and the team that agreed to play cannot rescind their decision.
If a team forfeits two games or matches in any one activity, that team shall be removed from the remainder of the season schedule and is not eligible for playoffs.
Scheduling
Due to the lack of space and time RECentral has to operate, all schedules, when made, are final. Requests for preferred game times and dates will be accepted but not guaranteed. We will try to accommodate requests whenever possible. Teams cannot postpone or cancel games by agreement. All schedule changes must be approved by the Assistant Recreation Director. All changes will be posted on the intramural boards as well as on the RECentral website. Captains, be sure to check for updates frequently.
Rescheduling
Team Captain’s can request a schedule change to avoid a forfeit of a contest. Submitting a request for a schedule change does NOT guarantee that it will happen. It will depend on field/court availability and staffing.
Postpones/Inclement Weather
Administrative postponements or cancellations occur when the weather or other uncontrollable factors make postponing games necessary. If the weather is questionable, call RECentral at (860)-832-3732 or check the RECentral website. Games will be scheduled at a later date if possible, if not both teams will be credited with a win.
Equipment
Most equipment necessary for RECentral will be provided by the department. Personal equipment can only be used if it meets approval of RECentral Staff. All outside equipment must be checked before each game.
Apparel
All participants must wear athletic attire including shoes that cover the foot completely. Sandals, boots, open toe shoes, and jeans are not allowed to be worn. No jewelry may be worn during competition of any kind (rings, earrings, ropes, etc.) All players must have a number on their T-shirt or jersey. If no number is visible then a pinnie/jersey will be provided and must be worn through the duration of the game.
Code of Conduct
Many infractions that occur during games are either accidental or minor, and at times are unavoidable. However, there are major infractions that go against the ideals of sportsmanship and jeopardize the legitimacy of RECentral’s mission of excellence. Major infractions can lead up to suspension of individuals and teams from all RECentral events.
- A participant who displays poor sportsmanship, especially towards an official, the other team, or their own team, will be immediately disqualified from the present contest.
- Any participant engaging in offensive language towards other participants, officials, spectators, etc., will immediately be disqualified from the present contest.

In order to participate in intramurals, individuals must be aware of the Assumption of Risk.
