  • If an extra point try is intercepted and returned for a touchdown it will be worth 2 points
  • The individual that scores must immediately raise their arms and walk over to an official to be deflagged. If the official can deflag the players easily with one pull, then the points will stand. However, if the flag is secured illegally and can not be pulled out easily, then the points will not be scored, the player will be disqualified, and the team will be penalized ten yards and a loss of downs.
  • A safety will be scored if a player is deflagged in their own end zone. It will count as two points for the opposing team which will also gain possession of the ball from their own fifteen yard line.

2. Start of the game

  • The home team will have the decision to start on offense or defense, or which goal to defend first. Home and guest teams are determined prior to the game.
  • The ball will start on the 15 yard line for the beginning of each half, and after every touchdown.

3. Scrimmage

  • On offense, there must be at least four players on the line of scrimmage at the snap. The other players must either be on the line of scrimmage or in the backfield, with one player designated as the quarterback.

  • A player can receive a pass even if their flag accidentally falls off, they will be ruled down if they are tagged by a defender. Same goes for a player who intercepts the ball.
  • The ball carrier must run to avoid the defense, maneuvering around defenders. They are not allowed to stiff-arm. They will be ruled down at the spot of the infraction.
  • If the ball carrier of passer falls with the ball, they are ruled down with any body contact to the ground, other than the hands or feet..
  • After the ball is put into position by the official, the offense has 20 seconds to snap the ball. (Delay of game = 5 yard penalty)

  • Defensive players must go around screen blocks without using arms and hands to wedge their way through.
  • All blocking infractions will depend on the judgment of officials.

5. Flag Removal/Guarding

  • When a player removes the belt, he must immediately raise the flag above his head in order for the referee to see.
  • If the flag falls out without being removed by an opposing player, the defense only needs to make a one hand tag for the runner to be down.
  • A defensive player, when trying to get the flag, may make contact with the runner’s body, but may not push, pull, or knock the runner over in an attempt to remove the flag.
